Picture Talks are always a great activity. During a Picture Talk activity, pictures, (photographs or illustrations), are placed around the room on large sheets on paper. Students go around station to station examining the pictures and writing on the paper. Students can write about anything in particular they observe, any questions they may have about what the picture represents, answer any questions previous students may have written, and think critically in general. After students finish going to each picture station we join back together as a group to discuss what it is we wrote down. Below are pictures of students in action and some examples of what they wrote. It's easy to see that Saint James School students are hard workers!
